Per the show website, shotguns and rifles are okay...handguns aren't.  So I'm guessing you can buy it, lol?  Seems a bit backwards, but...yeah.

I literally just finished my AR build a few minutes ago. Total cost (though I still need either iron sights or a scope) is $612.72 for essentially a 24" DPMS... Few random bits I put on because I liked them more than DPMS, but 85% DPMS. Sure you can buy one, but that whole 'militia' argument requires some gun smiths. Pick up a stripped lower at the gun show, and build it yourself from Brownells or MidwayUSA.

And yea, I'd expect this to be packed, and doing brisk business (go Friday). I was at the Frederick show this past weekend and dang. You could barely walk around in there, and the wait to talk to someone to be able to buy a gun was a good 5-10 minutes. 

(They had a nickel plated Desert Eagle, believe it was around $1600ish)

 Still looking for a Mossberg maverick with folding stock for under $400.

They didn't mean buy and walk out, they meant 'allowed to purchase'. You must purchase a handgun in the state you reside in. Rifles and shotguns can be bought across state lines, but you'll have to wait the same as with any other firearm.

when i got my 50, i walked in and walked out in about 30min

Was this before the Brady Law went into effect? Or are you just lucky enough to not live in one of these dictatorial states such as Maryland.

alot of law irregularities.....i was in the gun shop in Maryland the other day looking at an AR-15 and they had an extra tag that said "no wait"....
