Pashnit is full of cool stories.  The guy has all the good CA roads mapped out and described on the site.

Too bad he started to charge $20 for access these days.

Actually, what's really too bad is that I don't live in CA.

    Re: Someone's Documentary

I was out there last year.... and on many of those same roads....  Started in wine country, out to Bodega Bay, down 1 through Point Reyes, the redwood forest, down through salsalito and back into San Fran, then down to Monterey and Big Sur, etc.  It was early June and it was so beautiful that I couldn't believe it.  The roads are awesome and I couldn't keep myself from pulling over every mile to take shot after shot after shot of unbelievably beautiful Northern California.....  unfortunately it was all from a rental car :(  No moto :(   BUT apparently Cali rents bikes!  So I wanna get back out there next year and rent a bike, and do the same tour.

If you've never been to Northern Cali, it's like another universe.  You will not want to leave, and keep thinking of ways that you could just find a job, a place to live, and leave the east coast behind and never go back.  Then reality slaps you and you realize it's probably more special if it's just one of those places you can go visit for a week once every couple of years.

I get to go back to Monterey next month though, so I'm psyched about that Yes
