Ever been the ONLY person in a movie theater?

I'm in Memphis, TN this week for work and after grabbing some dinner I decided to go see "Pineapple Express".

I get there like 10 minutes before it starts and when I walk into the theater there is nobody there.

After debating on which open seat to take I sit down and am expecting atleast a few other people to show up.

    NOPE.

So I watched the movie... all alone... and laughed as loud as I wanted.

Anyone else had this opportunity? lol

    Close....me and one other person

I went to see Momma Mia recently because a friend of mine really wanted to go.  We were the only two people in the theater.

The movie was not so good, and we were wishing they would stop singing, but it was nice to be able to talk as loud as you wanted to.

Yeah, "Graffiti Bridge". Sucked azz. Started with a full theater then one by one everyone left. I was young and had no ride home and I was with a girl, so we stayed but did not watch the movie. Wink

Me and my S.O. at the time were in the Luray Caverns area of V.A.  We went and saw "Timecop".  ( I kno, I kno, just goes to show how long ago that was)  It's an eery feeling, but still kinda cool being the only one's there.  We thought someone was gonna come in and say "We're not going to show the movie due to lack of ticket sales" or something.

    No, no..........Its pronounced R1

Well technically I'm biased on this one...

I used to be a projectionist at the  AMC Theatres in Greenbelt. Every Thursday night the new movies would come in and have to be built up from individual reels into a full 'reel'. After that all the new movies would have to be watched to make sure they were put together correctly. I would have to watch each one before going home. Sometimes I would get other people to watch movies and let me know if they were built up wrong. The best part of all this was you could smoke and drink in the theatre and customers weren't there to complain.

Well D!ck,Here's the deal I'm the best there is plain and simple, I mean I wake up in the morning and I piss Excellence! I'm just a big hairy American winning machine. If ya ain't first your last!

They were showing biker movies during MountainFest, last year I was there was in 2005.  I saw Easy Rider, you know, a classic, and because it was near the end of rally and most were on their way home, I was in the theatre with like one or two other guys.  That famous song by the Band (the same group that did Acadian Driftwood) caused my hair to stand on end - I wonder if those lyrics were written especially for that movie 'cause it was so fitting - and so cool.

I've been known to laugh out out when nobody else does in a theatre, 'cause my sense of humor is different than most.  For example when Roy Horn got chomped down by one of his white tigers, I would have laughed so hard as others gasp in horror, and then I would have made funny remarks like "I guess lunch is being held back-stage"  I would have given anything to have seen their last live performance, LOL.

All the time!   It's awesome because you get the best seat in the house and you can fart, laugh, cry as loud as you want.  And you don't hear the background noise of crackling bags, people laughing/talking/chewing.

I saw Kings of Comedy opening night at the AMC in Greenbelt, and while I was certainly not the only person there, I was the only white person there.  Does that count?

Yeah, I haven't been there in years either. It seemed to go downhill after I stopped working there. I quit about two years before the stabbing.
