    Reston Town Center condos

     Anyone live in one?

How secure do you feel your bike is in the garage?
    How's traffic during rush hour?
Noise at night from the Town Center or Hospital?

    Thanks.

I lived in RTC for a while.. it's pretty nice but VERY yuppie.  Your bikes and cars are safe in the garage... most of them are guarded 24/7 and have cameras/etc.  Rush Hour traffic is pretty 'normal' I would say.  Where do you go for work?  If you head to D.C. then yeah you're traffic is going to suck, but that will be the case anywhere worth living.  I did not find the traffic in/around Reston to be any worse or better than the rest of the traffic around NoVA.

Noise?  bah... this is Reston a.k.a Yuppie central -- nothing gets out of control.  I don't think I ever heard the town center or more than average sirens while living in RTC.  You're going to pay for it though.

I work in Ashburn, won't be fighting traffic to get to DC.  Maybe someday I'll work in the city again.

An ex gf lived right next to Fairfax Hospital, where she worked.  The medivacs there were loud and usually lasted for a little while.

I've heard the occasional chopper, airplane (Dulles), siren, etc.. but nothing that ever made me want to move.  If you work in Ashburn you'll be fine traffic wise.. 28 (light removal) & 7 (widening) are better than they used to be.

used to have a place at the metropolitan @ reston town center. paid $1900/month for a one bedroom on the upper levels. liked it a lot. no noise concerns or anything else like that. i think the 2 beds on the same floor were like $2200 or so. goodluck!

if have friends who live across the street from town center not in the big ritzy complex where joe gibbs lived. but across from the macaroni grill. those condos are a bit more affordable and nice. North reston also has a lot fo nice places.

    towncenter is fuddy duddy ville.

I looked at living in those, back when they were Summit Reston.  Had some friends live there a while back.  Nice, more park like, but no garage.  My bike wasn't beaten that bad by the ugly stick.

I'm looking at the complexes in the back of RTC, not quite as ritzy.

    I can't find anything w/ a garage in N Reston.

There is a place next to the new Harris Teeter in Herndon w/ a garage.  I'll probably look there too.
