tell us more about your commute! what is your setup? what is your routine? what benefits have you seen?

i've been planning my entry into the bicycle commuting world, as an avid biker, i'm really excited, but as a recreational rider, i'm not sure i know what i am getting into. no shorts? no shower? are you serious?

waiting for temps to cool off a bit.

I've done it a few times.  I only have two requirements:

1. Job must have shower in gym
2. Gym must have lockers where I can lock up my gear and toiletries.
3. Must have safe route

#1 is obvious, #2 is more of a lazy effort to not have to haul my shitf around.  Plus if I can just leave my toiletries in a locker it saves a little weight in my pack.  #3 is obvious too.  I moved a little further away from my job and now the only road to work is along a busy road that has a lot of traffic including construction trucks.  Too dangerous for me.
