    Scorpion Gear

So I'm now a Scorpion fan.... I had an EXO-400 helmet and recently bought the EXO-1000. The 1000 is a great helmet and I really like the SpeedShift (internal) tinted shield. It's a little heavier than most in the same class, likely because of the SpeedShift and the inflation system for the cheek pads, but, it's not too bad and the good makes up for the bad in my opinion.

Last week I bought the Scorpion Magnum gloves. I always wanted them but last week I had to buy a pair to replace my Joe Rocket gloves that I ruined being dumb.... Anyway, the Magnums are really nice after you break them in. When I first put them on they were impossibly stiff. I considered returning them, but, figured that I had 14 days so I'd see if either I would get used to them or they would loosen up. After about 150 miles with them, they feel better than the ones that I replaced.

Finally, I bought the Scorpion Hat Trick jacket. As far as mesh jackets go this is the best one that I tried on. I love the design and it's way more comfortable than the one that I replaced. One thing to keep in mind with the Scorpion jackets is that they are sized to fit. My old jacket was a Joe Rocket 2XL and it was a little large on me but fit better than the XL which made me feel like a fat guy in a little coat. The Scorpion is an XL and without the two liners inside, it feels huge. I'm not a small guy but I'm not very large either, my XL clothes are a bit baggy and this jacket fits right in with that. Considering the size though, the pads stay in the right place. A jacket that's too big won't do it's job in a fall because your padding is going to be all over the place and likely not where your body impacts the ground.

I know this isn't a short post but there is a lot more good to say about Scorpion. Even the customer service is top of the line. I had an issue and called them about my helmet pads. They had me on the phone with the right person fast and in less than 5 minutes we'd talked, he placed an order to have the pads shipped to me, and I was going on about my day.

Good to know.  Thanks for sharing.

Yes  Nice to hear the customer service agent actually cared.  Very rare that companies stand behind their products.

I had the Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet as well.  I loved the inflatable cheak pads to make the helmet fit just perfect.  The aeroskirt works really well to cut down on the wind noise and the vent option for the face shield is also a added benefit.

We carry Scorpion gear where I work. I've had a Scorpion helmet for lil over 2 years now. I like the EXO 400 series, great helmet for a great price. The company also is great, u gota a problem and they are there to help you. As for the WOMEN"S gear. . . . not the best. Nice style but it's based on the back seat rider. I talked to the our rep and she said they are working on that and would love to hear opinions.

I'm glad you posted that. My wife is looking for some gear now and we were looking at the Scorpion Nip Tuck jacket for her. What is good for women's gear? She's going to be a back seat rider for a while, but, will eventually get her own bike so we want to get some decent gear for her.

I have some gear from Shift.  It runs a little small so just be aware of that.  It's pretty stylish and I've never heard a complaint about it.  Also try Icon.

Glad to see some one else understands the meaning of Best Value.

Some folks don't undersand that concept and for them it's either Shoei or Arai or die. LOL

αλήθεια some will never learn the meaning of it.

My nephew is sponsored by them and crash tests their helmets while racing MX all the time.  They seem to work fine. He's still as smart as he ever was and the only knots he has in his head are ones his father has given him.

Not to sound ignorant, but what is it with that??? I own an Arai, Shoei, HJC, and 2 Scorpion's......and 75% of the time I'm riding with the Scorpion because I prefer the fit over the others. Is it the "history" of the Shoei & Arai that cause folks to spend several hundred dollars on one??? Is the cost of the helmet a direct relation to the amount of safety one can expect to have???

Riding gear is a different story. I don't have a preference in manufacturer, I focus on the material and comfort. I own Joe Rocket, Teknic, AGV, & Alpinestars gear......gloves, boots, and jackets. I like them all the same.

i know i can vouch first hand on Scorpion Helmets because unfortunately about 2 weeks ago i had to see one work up close and personel.  my boy and i were driving down bach road and this truck pulled out right in front of us.....my boy didnt have a chance to do anything, i barely made it without hitting this truck.  to make a long story short, he broke his femur bone in 4 different places and his hand.... but not a scratch on his head...  and he hit that truck pretty hard with hardly anytime to hit the brakes....  hes fine now and he says he will be scorpion's biggest fan when he gets back on two
