    Pizza [pi] Best Meal Ever?

First, what was your best meal ever at a restaurant... regardless of location? Describe and how much $$? Doesn't have to be expensive.

Second, same question, but in the DC area?

    I'll start:

I recently ate at Craftsteak in Las Vegas at the MGM. Absolutely amazing. Got the Kobe beef surf and turf tasting menu (roasted red peppers, salad, sauteed shrimp, flank steak, ribeye, king crab legs, mashed potatoes, asparagus, plus desserts, and paired wine with each course). I got goosebumps with every bite. Yes Bill was close to $500 for 2, but sooooo worth it.

Best in DC - Charlie Palmers. Yes Lobster & ribeye, with potatoes au Gratin & asparagus. Yes

in guatemala, last time i went was for my pop's funeral, we had churascos, which i guess is like a guatemalan taco. grilled free range beef, how do we know it was free range. cus dem cows out back and we were eating their brother, in a torilla with a jalepeno onion lime sauces with tomatoes chilli peppers and farm fresh cheese. then followed by street corner deep fried pork heavily salted. washed down with some fresh lemonade.

     all for under 3 bux

my mouth waters to this day. ive tried to recreate it at home with no luck.

No doubt. I never had a bad meal there. Also went to Circo at Bellagio...spent almost the same amount...but didnt come close to Craftsteak.

hey have Nobu, like 5 Wolfgang Puck restaurants, Bobby Flay (I ate there for lunch - Mesa Grill), and on and on...

You gotta do at least 1 great meal wherever you go. Yes

    Best meal ever in life?

This little spot in Puerto Rico (I want to say it was called Dragonfly?)

Pecan crusted Tilapia, mofongo, cerviche with caviar pearls, some sort of flambe fruit dish for dessert, and the drinks were amazing.  Don't know how much it was because I didn't pay, lol...

empanada mama in manhattan - cheap & delicious.

i'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants - it's the hole-in-the-wall spots that are the best in my opinion.

And that's exactly where it was, lol...down some old alleyway type road...but you don't have to tell me about the food down there...it took a lot for me to get back on the plane just because of it, lol...

I'm determined to learn how to make mofongo and a good cerviche sometime before the end of time, lol...

    Ever?

The Richmond Hotel in South Beach.  Da Mrs und I tied the knot there.  This was almost 10 years ago and the head chef, Ray, had just retired from his LA catering company.  His company did/does the Oscars.  All we said was keep the food latin.  He said "I take care of you."  It was fantastic (forgive spelling) with Paella, empanada's, central american style tamale's, cuban rice, ect. ect. ect.

    In DC area?

drawin a blank as I don't go out much given the food I get right here at home there is no need to leave.

just imagine... you and a bunch of your good buddies hanging out at your haunted apartment, drinking beer, mixing soco and cherry coke, watching ufc, while talking about getting a poker game started, all this on a friday night after a loooooooooooong ass wk of work... you order some awesome pizza from the pizzeria that just happens to be walking distance to your apt (mind you this is the second best pizza place on the planet that i know of) and you just have a great time...

best meal... best served: shared with friends, family and loved ones...

good food, good times... only thing missing really was women.

btw... i agree on casino food! we hung out in tunica, ms once and had some great seafood!

In this area 5 guys is probably the best chain burger (in my opinion at least).  If you want to take a little road trip, hit up Sonic in DE or in PA. if you want to take a long road trip... Inn N Out burger is only about 3000 miles away  :)

I see a ride up to Sonic in my near future.

    But that's just my opinion.

    Re: Best Meal Ever?

hate to say it but kobe isn't severed in this country.  we have something like it but its not kobe beef. if they tell you it is its a lie.  i've been tokyo.  if you think blowing a $1000 on a meal is expensive go to japan.  i hope you had your american kobe rare or sashimi style. its the only way to eat it. Yes

yeah i have to agree vegas has some of the best places to eat in the world.  if you havent been you have to check out picassco and craftsteak.  *** you can almost throw a dart at the strip there will be a good place to eat there.

as for dc.. cityzen and citronelle are some of the best eats in the city.  they have the first 3 letter sin common. how weird is that?

i know you like charlie palmer.  here is my review of the place:
