tough one.  i could enjoy a whopper and fries as much as a $200 steak if i'm in the right mood.

Ditto. Although I prefer Checkers over Burger King.

CHECKERS IS THE THE *** HAD A NICE TRIPLE BURGER WHILE STYLES WAS PUKING ON NEW YORK AVE LASTIME I WENT.

HE LIGHT WIEGHT HAD LIKE 3 BURS

In this area 5 guys is probably the best chain burger (in my opinion at least).  If you want to take a little road trip, hit up Sonic in DE or in PA. if you want to take a long road trip... Inn N Out burger is only about 3000 miles away  :)

I see a ride up to Sonic in my near future.

did you say sonic?!?!? a feel a fun weather adventure coming. i love spring!!!

as far as overseas meals go... i walked into to a lil shop in korea... just picked one and asked for some noodles.

MAN! that meal went down in my top 5 list! best part was the price... i was like 3 bucks er something! nothing beats native food. have you ever had American food overseas? yeah, that's probably about how ethic foods taste here in the states.

As far as DC goes my favorite spot is B. Smiths.  That swamp thing is on point!  And they have a really nice brunch.  As far as back home goes nothing beats going to this spot way out in the boonies called the meeting place and buying a big old country ham.  My pops fries it up in his old school skillet and we eat country ham sandwiches and drink some of my uncles peach moon shine!!

I ate my best meal ever at the Stripsteak @ Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.  I had east coast oysters on the half for an appetizer, the Kobe Filet Mignon 6oz., veggies, and a bottle of Tuscan wine.  Finished off with a chilled plate of passion fruit sorbet.  $400 total.

This is going to sound pretty mushy but IMO, the best meal experiences depend on company as much as the food/presentation/ambience.  So if I had to think of best meals, I rank the ones where I had a fun time with someone else or a group of people.  (and where I have been previously and it was just good.)  In a sense, I'm more concerned about who I'm going out with than what restaurant I'm going to.

So ultimately, I don't see how any restaurant could be so amazing that it unquestionably stands head and shoulders above all others.  I've been to a lot of the famous ones including the iron chef ones and sure, they were good.  Amazing?  Not really.  I find some of the famous ones sort of gimmicky.

I have not been to the Inn at Little Wash, though... we should do a 211 run and eat there one weekend for lunch. wear all our gear and walk into their fake euro aristocractic themed room and chill for a while.  Do burnounts in their parking lot as we depart.  hehe.

I critique how well the meal was prepared, timely preparation, and presentation.  Next, the ambience, then I move to social experiences there.  I had a horrible time @ the Legal seafood in Gallery Place and came back for a company luncheon and loved it so I can understand where you are coming from.

I ate at the Bellagio Fix and loved it even though the food was just above average, but the ambience was amazing.  Even the shrimp rolls and Lobster was great @ Nobu but I wanted to punch this drunk guy sitting right next to me.

You are gonna lauf's but my best meal I ever enjoyed was at a McDonalds in Canada.

Sort of long story but I was adventuring in my car up north and got lost. Had nothing to eat all day. I found a town with some food. First words out of my mouth were "Oh thank you lord for these golden arches". Inhaled two Big Macs, two large fries, apple pie and large drink.

That was 15 years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday, i can taste the big mac right now. Stick out tongue

αλήθεια some will never learn the meaning of it.

for me, on multiple occasions it has to be Ratsies in college park. Nothing compares to that pizza at 3am drunk as hell walking out from the bars...and always a good fight to pick right outside.

problem is trying to keep that down for the rest of the night Cool

500 bucks doens't get you a great meal. sometimes it's just a 30" pizza from crescents right before it closes, for you and you buddies because yall are pissed that yall are working that night. it's like 20 below, windy and snowing, the heat is broke, and you are crazy shivering and just plain sucking. but you with your buddies and you pull that overnight shift... fix sh!t if it broke, sit in the shop and trade stories if it ain't broke and eat that 30" pizza bit by bit... then you deploy together and it sucks some more. but you can always go back to that one night... when yall went out to get some 30" pizza from crescents (dat sh!t was so big... it took 7 mins to figure out how to get it in my truck!) and made best of a sh!tty situation and just the memory of that one meal... just seemingly shortened your deployment by at least 3 wks.

how much was that pizza? sh!t i don't remember... but it sure wasn't 500 bucks! but the memory... priceless!
