    F/S. perfect commuter bike.

had this for sale. Decided to keep it. Now deciding to sell again.

Just think, you can park this at work and not have to worry about someone stealing it. You can ride for more than an hour and not have your back and wrists hurt. Most importantly... you can ride by a cop and not have them pull you over when you're doing the speed limit. Insurance is super cheap.

if I didn't already have 5 other bikes, I would keep her and ride her to work. But I already have a comfortable commuter. CL asking price is $1500. I'll sell to a DCSB member for $1300 firm. Unless you're a toolbox..then it's $2000.

    Copy of Craigs list ad:

I am selling my 86 Honda Nighthawk 700S. It's a great bike, I just don't have time to work on it or ride it anymore.

    The good:

! Brand spanking new tires. Seriously. Less than 100 miles on them. Dual compound BT's. Harder in the middle for touring. Softer on the sides for grip while cornering. I had these on the bike before and loved them. Plenty of grip for having fun. No worrying about squaring the tire off with lots of highway riding.

    ! Brand new master cylinder.

! Brand new stainless steel braided lines.

    ! Brand new brake pads.

    ! Brand new spark plugs.

! Hydraulic auto adjusting valves. You never have to worry about checking the clearance.

! Shaft drive. No more adjusting and lubricating a chain.

! Anti dive forks. Hit the brakes hard and the suspension firms up.

! Fully adjustable shocks. From and rear, rebound and compression. This bike was waaay ahead of it's time.

! Clean title. Not salvage or rebuild.

! Classifies as a historic vehicle in MD. No inspection or smog tests.

    ! Super cheap to insure.

    ! Cops don't assume you're speeding.

! To my knowledge it has never been dropped.

    The bad:

:( The front calipers need to be rebuilt. I know it's the calipers because I replaced everything else. It can not be ridden safely as is. It has no front brake

:( Speedo only works between 15 and 45mph. I think something is physically holding back inside the unit. The mileage on the tripometer rolls correctly, The speedo needle just stops at 45mph.

:( It's 22 years old. The paint isn't the greatest. But it's not bad for original paint.

Feel free to ask any questions. My schedule varies so Email me to setup a time to look at it. Price is Firm. I wont be upset if I end up keeping it. I'll just fix it over the winter.

I will sell her to a DCSB member for $700.

I want this thing out of the way so i can work on my other projects.

If you like to try and lowball... I'll ask $1000 and "let" you talk me down to $700.  Smile

If you really want it...we could work out a plan. Maybe a trade if you're still into car audio stuff. I'd rather see it go to someone who will appreciate it.

Give me a call later and we'll discuss.

    But that's just my opinion.

The thing I LOVE about old Jap bikes like that is that the air cooled engines are damn near bullet proof, and you can leave that bad boy on the street and you dont have to worry about anyone stealing it.
