share your favorite wine - food pairings

so i have been experimenting with cooking with wines... but as a new to wines guy, i'm still experimenting, but thanks to you guys, i got a start in the right direction. now i'm back for some more help. i need some ideas to try...

so far i have sangria (sweet) with spagetti sauce type things... if there is alot of veggies
merlot with spagetti sauce if it is more meat heavy (ground beef or chicken)

and i also have white wine with this chicken/mushroom cream dish i usually put on top of some sort of noodles.

i wanna hear yalls favorites, and i'm hoping to hear some good chicken marinades... steak stuff, and fish stuff but really... anything for some great ideas!

Its a broad stroke to paint a grape with food. Ive had the most bland merlots with a sweet end, and Ive had  dry merlots with more body, oak and spice and full of tannins.

However there are some traditionals like Pino Noir with Steak, Shiraz is often good with pizza, and grilled meats etc

Gene....why do you want any food with the wine anyway?  By the time you finished the bottle of wine.....you shouldn't be hungry anymore Stick out tongue

Shiraz + Lamb and Red Potatos. (use mint to cut down on the gaminess of the lamb)

    Merlot + Rabbit and Cauliflower

White Zifadel/Blush + Duck and Mango Chutney

Sherry + Cream of Crab Soup (I have no idea why this taste so good - but it does.)

I'm still searching for a good pairing with Riesling. It's not so sweet as to be a dessert wine in my opinion.

i got me some cheap charonnay... tastes aiet i guess... like i said, not really a wine drinker... but as i was sipping... i was like, dang! oranges would go GREAT with this.

low and behold... chardonnay and oranges!
and now i thinkin... merlot and plums? gonna have to try that sometime.
