    Sidi Scorpion Air Boots

Just picked up a pair today from Heyser for the *gasp* MSF range portion which starts tomorrow (50% done!). Have been wearing them all day, and wanted to give them two thumbs up. Were pretty stiff at first (for abut an hour), but they actually feel completely broken in already, from light walking and sitting around. They're more comfortable than my (5 year old) sneakers, and fit really nicely (just go a size down, I wear 8 1/2s, and these 7 1/2s are what I needed) feeling like an extension of my foot, just about. Got a chance to sit on the bike today (in class and at home), and you can feel the pegs and levels pretty well. Of course, they're low-cut, not great on protection, but should be decent for low-speed get offs.

I'll be using them for a daily commute up 295, and walking around in at work. Honestly, I didn't even notice them by the time I got out of class, it was like I was wearing sneaks. Plus they look decent, first thing that happened when I walked into class tonight was another student commented on the cut of them.

All in all, 2 thumbs up, lets hope I never have to crash test them to back that up.

Well, time to update the above. Had the one low-speed high-side in these bad boys, as well as a lot more time in the shoes.

The crash: Very low speed, so probably not a good indicator, but they scuffed nicely, and still appear to have a lot more to give.

Comfort: After three days on the range doing the road portion of MSF, in July in the DC area, I got a feel for 'hot'. However to absolute coolest part of my body was my feet, these things are WELL ventilated. However, and this is a big however, they do run narrow in the toes (accursed Italians with their roguish good looks and perfectly sized feet!) and I noticed after the first day (roughly 8 hours of wearing them straight) that my little toes were being sort of crushed in to the rest. I didn't really notice it until I took the shoes off, and went to put them on again the next day, was really sore. While for short times they're still quite comfortable, and will use them for my commute, just bring along a pair of sneaks, I'm rather afraid to be wearing them for longs hours, days on end. I broke my right toe once already, don't want it getting settled into ANOTHER new/weird position.

Wrote the first post on the 11th, before I started the test.

And, yea, was contemplating getting up to Motoneko, and will do so for my real boots, but bought these very, very very last minute.
