Didn't feel like dealing with DC restaurants so me and some friends went to dinner at 2941 Restaurant which is tucked away in a nondescript office building in Falls Church. I had heard of this place but never actually been, was really surprised at how nice the dining room was, 20 foot ceiling, open glass with a great view of the lake. Didn't know there were places like this in Falls Church.
Prix Fixe madness: You have choice of three, four or five course meals. Had the Foie Gras as usual, was pretty good, but I am done with it for a while. Halibut was special, Beef Rib eye was a little dry, Squab *** was fantastic, the lamb was pretty good as well.
Dessert: The chocolate quartet was delicious, the Tanzanie frozen truffle thingies was unexpected.
Wine: Usual stuff, glasses of a French Pino Noir was decent, don't remember the name.
Price: Depends on the courses starts at $75 for three and goes up to $125 for five i believe. Four course is the way to go.
Why should we care? Not really a reason other than the fact that this is a pretty nice French restaurant outside of the District, nice to find an interesting restaurant which is not in a strip mall.
