summit main report and pics (7/3)

not good at writing reports, but all i can say is that i had a blast and dragged my knee for the first time (second track day), was nice meeting coleman, victormike, knee dragragger and a bunch of others thanks cujo for the tow, the shiny spots kinda freaked me and the rumbles coming out of turn five, but i have fallen in love with turn 3, 8,9 and 10, definitely need to get turn 4 5,6,and 7 down, also need to invest in a lap timer

my poor boots, i shoyuld have raised my rear sets

pull your inner foot (on the turn) in on the TIP and you won't burn through boots like that man

Here are some of my pic's from the track day... The track needs some TLC, but other than that it was a great time.

To be honest bro, like incognito said, that damage on your boot is from your form. You might be able to contact alpinstars and tell them that was from  dragging your foot,  and see what they can do. But they might look at it the same way as someone who crashed and fawked there boot up. Buy some new ones and take incognitos advice. Prefferably boots wiith a metal plate at the bot. Garnere makes some good boots on that note.Stick out tongue

Wish I coulda ran with you that day, got the last 3B in with my boys bike cause the RC wasnt acting right.

Re: summit main report and pics (7/3)

Whoa man, didn't you feel your food draggin on the pavement? Why would you continue doing that? LOL

Also, maybe they changed this, but my Supertechs have replacable toe sliders in that spot... To be honest, with my rearests 1" up/1" back it is very rare for me tod drag that toe sliders... So I am surprised at the amount of draging you did....

That said, Alpinestars is a top notch company in my experience and they are lenient with their customers in terms of fixing stuff - if your damage can be fixed easily, they might just do it for ya... (Even though my last set of Supertechs was 2 years out of warranty and showed really just regular wear, when I send them to A* they still helped me out.)

Last but not least, great pics! Welcome to the addiction. I still remember my first Trackday.

I remember dragging knee for the first time....what a glorious day.  Keep up the good work.  But keep the peg on the balls of your feet and make sure your foot is on the inside tucked as close to the frame as you can.  The more you hang it out there, the more it has the potential to drag.

I'm interested in hearing what they say too.  I guess you could call it defective being that instead of sliding, the piece got ripped off.  You didn't wreck or anything so the boots should look otherwise clean.  I swear I'm gonna send them an empty Alpinestars box and tell them I have a problem.

"There are no boots in this box!!  Please fix, thx."
